The next foldable smartphone from Oppo and OnePlus will be the Oppo Find N5 in China and OnePlus Open 2 internationally. Like the Find N3 and original Open, these are expected to be identical. Thus, we’ll refer to both as the Open 2 in this article, but everything we say also applies to the Find N5.
According to prolific Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus Open 2 will be larger than the original, but also very slim (under 10mm, according to a past rumor). On the rear will be a large circular camera island, which will house a trio of Hasselblad branded shooters: a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 50 MP 3x zoom periscope telephoto camera.
The Open 2’s battery will get a big boost compared to its predecessor – 5,700 mAh vs. 4,805 mAh. The upcoming device will support wireless charging, something the original Open did not.
The Open 2 will unsurprisingly be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. According to a previous rumor, the Find N5 is due to launch between January and March of next year, and the same might be true for the Open 2.
