Adele found herself brought to tears while sharing a tender moment with Celion Dion during the “Rolling In The Deep” singer’s Las Vegas Residency on Saturday night.
In videos shared online, Adele pauses during a performance of “When We Were Young” to approach Dion seated in a box at the Colosseum at Ceasers Palace, where the British pop star has been in residence for nearly two years.
Both singers teared up as the hugged, and shared a few words not heard by the rest of the crowd. Dion then kissed Adele’s hand before the singer resumed her performance onstage.
The sweet moment between stars comes after Adele told her fans in July she’d be taking a “big break” upon the Las Vegas residency’s conclusion next month, and has no new plans for more music. Also this summer, Dion celebrated the release of her documentary, I Am Celine Dion, which documents her struggle with Stiff-Person Syndrom, the rare neurological illness which has prevented her from performing.
“I hope that this documentary gives an opportunity to people, first of all, to let them know that I am here as a mother as an artist, as a woman as an ambassador in a way of I want to help people,” Dion told The Hollywood Reporter at the film’s premiere. “A lot of people are looking into a bag of empty hope, and it’s pretty dark, and I felt like that for a long time until I realized that this is not living. That’s not even dying. This is just being still, and I didn’t want that anymore. I don’t think I deserved that. My kids especially did not deserve that.”
