Late last year, just a few months after announcing his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness after 27 years, rumors started swirling that Hugh Jackman and Bunheads star Sutton Foster had fallen in love and planned to spend their lives together. Page Six initially ran the story, but quickly pulled it—allegedly due to Jackman’s friendship with Rupert Murdoch. However, In Touch kept the story alive. While others hesitated, Reddit users dubbed it the biggest open secret in the world of musical theater, claiming that Foster and Jackman fell for each other while starring in The Music Man. Despite the buzz, the story faded, partly because you don’t cross the Jackman/Reynolds duo. Taylor Swift might come after you. That’s what I heard on Reddit, anyway.
At the time, I remember Sutton Foster quickly posted a picture of her and her husband, Ocean’s 11 screenwriter Ted Griffin, on Instagram, likely to reaffirm their relationship and squash the rumors. That photo, and any others of Griffin, seem to have disappeared from her Instagram since Valentine’s Day 2023.
Well, the other shoe has officially dropped. Sutton Foster has now filed for divorce after ten years of marriage to Griffin. Neither Foster, Jackman, nor Griffin has commented. Ryan Reynolds has yet to make an Instagram video blessing the alleged relationship between Jackman and Foster, but it’s probably only a matter of time.
