Similar to the previous iterations, Black Ops 6 continues to feature a variety of weapon skins including the iconic Military Camos and Special Camos.
As is tradition, players must unlock these two camos first in order to get their hands on the Mastery Camos.
With that said, here’s a detailed overview of all the Military and Special weapon camouflages along with instructions to unlock them.
How to unlock Military Camos
As soon as you unlock a weapon, you can obtain a Military Camo for it right away which means no weapon leveling is required.
Each weapon’s camo journey begins with nine Military Camos that are unlocked sequentially by reaching progressive milestones in each mode.
- Multiplayer: Headshots
- Zombies: Critical Kills
- Warzone: Eliminations
This means that in Multiplayer, just scoring headshots with a weapon will progress through and unlock these camos:

Military Camos must be earned separately for every weapon. As an example, unlocking Granite for the AMES 85 in Multiplayer allows you to use it on that weapon across modes (MP, ZM, or WZ). However, to apply it to another weapon, you’ll need to unlock it again for that specific gun.
How to unlock Special Camos
Special Camos are a bit different from the Military ones and the process to unlock them is also tricky. First, once you unlock all nine Military camos for a certain weapon, you’re eligible to unlock a Special camo for it.
Every weapon offers two unique Special Camo variants per mode which is exclusive to that weapon. You can unlock these camos in any order with each having its own set of criteria based on the weapon’s specific strengths or playstyle.
For example, the Muddled Camo for M16 requires you to get 30 kills after sprinting.
Once unlocked, Special Camos are available for any weapon as long as the new weapon has finished its Military cosmetics and unlocked the Special category in one of the modes. Afterward, you can apply any Special Camo you prefer and use it in any mode you want.
