Jurgen Klopp has finally made an Instagram account ahead of his Liverpool exit – and followed a surprise first player.

The German went public with his new account which he has used to give an emotional farewell to Reds’ fans. Supporters did not take long taking an explore through Klopp’s profile – particularly who he decided to follow.

An intriguing name appeared right at the top of the German’s list. While some would expect it to be Mo Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold or even Alisson, Klopp chose to follow Dominik Szoboszlai first.

The Hungarian only moved to Anfield last summer but appears to have left a lasting impression on his manager. Szoboszlai, 23, has made 44 appearances for the Reds since joining from RB Leipzig.

In that time, he has scored seven goals and provided four assists. He already looks likely to be a key player for Klopp’s eventual replacement Arne Slot.

Away from following a clutch of his players, Klopp has explained why he has finally set up an Instagram account. “Dear Liverpudlians, we’re getting closer to the end,” Klopp said. “On the eighth of October 2015, we met the first time properly.

“I would call it a love affair. From the first day, it was an absolutely incredible, incredible time. I enjoyed it so much and want to thank you so much for all the support you gave us over the years, for all the power you gave us.
