Katie Piper called out a vile troll on Instagram after being targeted over her appearance and cruelly told she should ‘jump out a window’ to end her suffering.
The Loose Women star, 40, suffered facial burns and blindness in one eye after she was attacked with acid by her ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch and accomplice Stefan Sylvestre in 2008.
Katie shared a snap of the comment and admitted that while she doesn’t usually draw attention to cruel posts, this one ‘was beyond anything’ she could handle and adding to the ‘heavy load’ she was already carrying.
It started with the follower asking ‘where’s your nose?’ to which the broadcaster replied: ‘Being pulled into my fave by thick scar tissue it’s incredibly painful’.
They then commented: Yep, it’s cool but my nose is normal. I wish you to stop suffering as soon as possible. I recommend that you go out the window, preferably on the 10th-11th floor, perhaps this will ease your suffering’ – followed by laughing emojis.

‘You never know how people are feeling, what they’re going through, how their days are and even if you did, the only person we’re judging because of this comment, is you.
‘I wouldn’t usually call this out so personally, but this is beyond anything even I can handle. This behaviour should always be called out, people need to do better.’

Fans and famous friends quickly rushed to Katie defence, with co star Coleen Nolan writing: ‘Oh god Katie this is so so vile ! I think these kind of people have no life , no friends and would prefer hate towards them then nothing at all.. I’m trying to feel sorry for this sad individual but I’m finding it really difficult.. you on the other hand are one of the most beautiful individuals I’ve ever met. Never let anyone dull your shin’.
While Ranvir Singh said: ‘It’s exhausting calling people out on inexcusable behaviour and sometimes it feels easier to say nothing but sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand – look after your energy today my love – you’re a total one-off and loved hugely x x’.
Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa commented: ‘This person literally cannot stand to see you shining. What an unbelievable cretin’ and Stacey Dooley added: ‘The pits. You are legit 10/10 in every sense’.

Fans and famous friends rushed to Katie’s defence
Earlier this year Katie opened up and revealed the ‘only thing’ that helped her confidence following the acid attack.
Speaking to Women’s Health UK she explained that during those years where her face was constantly changing through surgeries, her hair was the only thing she could control.
She revealed that her hair became her ‘armour’ and her ‘crown’ during her recovery.
Speaking to the publication, Katie explained: ‘My face was changing after I was burnt, and the only thing I had control of was my hair, and it became my crown.
‘My hair was the only way I could communicate and express to the world how I was feeling…My hair is my armour, my hair is my strength, my hair is my way of communicating with the public.
‘I found this whole new community in a world that I hadn’t felt a part of for a long time, in the beauty world.
‘I don’t want to sound superficial, but my hair is connected to my confidence – and it’s not in a frivolous or vanity way – but a good hair day gives me that sass to feel more assertive, more in control, to feel sexy, to feel pretty, and that’s okay.’
The TV host was lucky to have survived, but there was an agonising road to recovery ahead to rebuild her face and her life – her injuries have required more than 400 operations since that day.

Katie, who was only 24 at the time, was an aspiring presenter but following the attack was encouraged by her parents to move back home to Hampshire.
Refusing to give up on her dream, the mother-of-two pushed for greater diversity in the TV industry.
She went on to create two further personal documentaries with Channel 4, wrote her autobiography, a series of self-development books, as well as newspaper and magazine columns, plus set up the Katie Piper Foundation, which provides support for burns survivors.
For the first two years following the attack, Katie had to wear a clear plastic mask on her face she added that she didn’t want the mask to stop her from ‘going to work’ and she wanted to get off ‘disability benefits’.
She needed 400 operations after being left with severe burns.
