Welsh singing sensation Wynne Evans could be set to waltz off Strictly Come Dancing after the odds on him exiting the show were slashed in the wake of two awkward moments with dance partner Katya Jones.
The odds for the accomplished tenor tumbled to 5/1 as he became the third favourite for the chop this weekend, according to betting firm Ladbrokes.
Ladbrokes also has odds of 6/1 on him quitting the show after Jones moved his arm from her waist during the live show and rejected his high five.
The pair later issued an awkward apology to fans, but the Go Compare star is still facing backlash.
Wynne told BBC Radio Wales: “Basically, firstly I want to say I’m absolutely heartbroken about the things that are being said about me in the past day. It’s not nice to live in that time.
“Katya and I are really really close and we’re really good friends and on Saturday night, we made a stupid joke that went wrong. We thought it was really funny. It has been totally misinterpreted.”

The star’s chances of winning Strictly this year now stand at a distant 33/1 – a stark contrast to his previous 20/1 odds. Ex-footballer Paul Merson has become the top contender for the next elimination with odds at 6/5.
He is followed by Punam Krishnan at 5/2, and Pete Wicks at 9/1. Shayne Ward, who narrowly beat Nick Knowles in the dance off, has odds of leaving at 12/1.
Nicola McGeady, Ladbrokes representative, said: “Wynne Evans was embroiled in controversy over the weekend which has taken a big toll on his popularity. He is now in the danger zone to be the fourth celebrity eliminated from the show.”
