After the highs of Movies Week, we’re ditching the opening numbers and outlandish costumes as Strictly Come Dancing returns for its fourth week.
The same amount of celebrities will be taking to the dancefloor this evening as Nick Knowles makes his grand return after being forced to miss last week due to a knee injury sustained when practicing his Charleston – a routine he will be dancing for us tonight.
Join HELLO! as we enjoy the best moments from the fourth week and bring you all the main highlights…
Who left last week?
Last week, it was the end of the road for Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones as their Little Mermaid inspired samba didn’t impress the judges or viewers. Toyah, who survived the first dance-off, wasn’t lucky the second time, losing out to Paul Merson on a unanimous decision.
Who’s dancing what?
As we mentioned, Nick will be redoing his Charleston, as the star was unable to train for most of this week. However, he won’t be the only Charleston of the week as Love Island star Tasha Ghouri will be tackling the routine with Aljaz Skorjanec.
We can also expect two salsas and two quicksteps with Chris McCausland and Jamie Borthwick will be taking on the former, while Paul Merson and Pete Wicks are handling the latter.
Elsewhere, Montell Douglas is taking on the Viennese waltz, Dr. Punam Krishan will be aiming to replicate last week’s success with a jive and Sam Quek takes on the samba; although to Hips Don’t Lie as opposed to Whenever, Wherever.
The dances are rounded out by Sarah Hadland’s foxtrot, JB Gill’s rumba, Shayne Ward’s cha-cha-cha and Wynne Evans’ tango.
Last week’s leaderboard
Last week’s leaderboard will have no impact on this week, but it was Tasha Ghouri who topped it with her rumba. Three coupled scored one point below her, with Shayne Ward, Sarah Hadland and Dr. Punam all scoring 33.
Shayne opens the show
Shayne opened up Saturday night’s show with his thrilling cha-cha-cha. The former Coronation Street star has been on the up recently on the leaderboard and his bowling-themed routine was a strike in our eyes!
Shirley praised his “improvement” from his first Latin number, a samba in Week 1, but Craig claimed it “lacked resistance and tone”.
Score: 30 (7, 8, 7, 8)
Sarah gets us emotional
Sarah and Vito brought a lot of emotions to their foxtrot to Billie Eilish’s hit Birds of a Feather.
One fan said: “Am I getting emotional over Sarah and Vito’s dance to Birds of a Feather because they look so happy to be there and are dancing so beautifully???”
In a rare moment, Anton elicted several boos after highlighting Sarah’s footwork.
Scores: 27 (6, 7, 7, 7)
Nick’s return to the dancefloor!
Nick was able to bring his Charleston to the Strictly dancefloor finally, and we were so glad to see it!
Craig sadly found plenty to complain about, but praised Nick’s “character”, while Anton praised the dance as a piece of “musical theatre”.
Scores: 21 (4, 6, 5, 6)
Jamie brings the spice
Jamie and Michelle tackled the first salsa of the night and the EastEnders was a toyal natural in the dance style, and those lifts!
Fans found the routine quite funny, with one joking: “When the TUI holiday rep has spent too long in Cancun and needs sending home.”
Shirley hailed the routine as Jamie’s “best dance” and Motsi praised how Jamie went for it.
Scores: 34 (8, 9, 9, 8)
Wynne brings the tango
Wynne has been one of our favourite dancers this year and this week he took on the tango.
Anton noted how “committed” Wynne was to the routine and said it was one of Wynne’s “best performances”. Motsi agreed, labelling it Wynne’s “best” and praising his “quality” dancing.
Scores: 34 (8, 9, 9, 8)
Punam’s confidence shines in jive
Following her historic Bollywood routine, Punam was taking on the jive, but although her confidence shined through there were issues.
Motsi said the dance was “hot and cold” with mistakes with her hands while Shirley thought Punam had put too much “pressure” on herself.
Scores: 20 (4, 5, 5, 6)
Dance-off survivor returns
Paul hasn’t been the best dancer this series, but the footballer certainly brought it with his quickstep this week!
Anton said his dance was “great” and Craig hailed the “progressions”.
Scores: 23 (4, 6, 6, 7)
JB brings the love
JB and Amy took to the dancefloor for their passionate rumba, and they certainly brought a sizzling performance.
However, Craig thought JB got “stuck” during parts of the performance. It marked Amy’s first rumba on the series.
Scores: 30 (7, 8, 7, 8)
Chris bounces into action!
After words of encouragement from Dianne’s father, comedian Chris took on a challenging salsa, and he showed no fear, even as he lifted Dianne straight into the air!
Shirley praised how Chris handled the lifts while Craig even cracked out his Australian accent to deliver his critiques.
Scores: 30 (6, 8, 8, 8)
Montell is just swell!
Johannes and Montell really captured our hearts with their moving routine this week.
One fan couldn’t believed their eyes as they penned: “BEAUTIFUL. Looked like a professional couple who have spent years dancing together. Love the song choice too.”
Anton hailed the routine as his “favourite” of the night, meanwhile Shirley said the pairing could be a “danger” to others pairs hoping for Glitterball glory.
Scores: 33 (8, 8, 8, 9)
Sam’s hips don’t lie!
After Nikita’s iconic singing of the wrong Shakira song on last week’s results show, expectations were high for this number.
Motsi loved the amount of samba content in the routine, but Shirley felt some parts felt “awkward”.
Scores: 28 (7, 7, 7, 7)
After THAT George of the Jungle routine last week, Pete performed a quickstep to Town Called Malice.
Motsi felt some parts of the routine “weren’t consistent” but Shirley loved how Pete “belted” across the floor.
Scores: 29 (7, 7, 8, 7)
Tasha closes out the show in style
Tasha is one of this year’s best dancers and she totally stole the show with her closing number.
Lifts, a split and a selfie stick made sure that she secured the first tens of the series.
Motsi stole Craig’s catchphrase while Shirley said she “couldn’t fault it” while Anton called it “practically perfect”.
Scores: 39 (9, 10, 10, 10)
