It looks like Roman Kemp has taken his relationship with girlfriend Carmen Gaggero to the next level as friends say he is engaged.
The One Show host’s romance with Carmen was revealed only last month when they were spotted on a date atĀ at Le Petit Maison in Mayfair and the model was recently spotted wearing a ring on her engagement finger.Ā Ā
A source told MailOnline Roman, 31 –Ā who is the son of Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp and singer Shirlie Holliman – is more than ready to settle down and believes he has found the one in Carmen.
They said: ‘Roman has popped the question and Carmen said yes. Roman has long wanted to settle down and start a family so it’s such an exciting time for them.
‘He’s been seeing Carmen for a few months now and feels strongly she is the one.Ā

Carmen, who is a production and casting assistant, describes herself as a ‘TV, Film and Fashion enthusiast’ as per her online bio.Ā
Raised in Brighton, she has had a mixture of experience in the industry having worked for both Conde Nast and LuckyChap Entertainment.Ā
The radio DJ tends to keep his love life out of the spotlight.Ā
Although the couple have kept their relationship under wraps they have been seen together previously earlier this year.Ā

Carmen was also stood beside Roman as he chatted to the Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla at the Sovereign’sĀ Creative Industries Garden Party back in May.Ā
Roman was previously in a three year relationship with his former girlfriend Anne-Sophie Flury, however the couple split in 2020.

He was later linked to radio colleague Codie Jones and German model Jette Kerkoff but never confirmed a relationship with either.Ā
The presenter also previously confessed that he ‘doesn’t date English girls’ because he likes it when a potential love interest doesn’t know who he is.
Speaking on the Diary Of A CEO podcast about his dating life, Roman explained that he is most attracted to independent women and is desperate for a relationship to emulate his parents’ 34-year marriage.
‘Women that have their life plan and are busier, that attracts me more than anything.
‘You look at the girls I’ve dated in the past, they’re girls that are doing their own thing and they’re f***ing good at it,’ he gushed.
Roman went on to explain that he likes to build a connection with someone away from his fame and fortune.Ā
‘It’s one of the reasons, to be totally honest with you, that I don’t really date English girls, ever. I love someone not knowing what I do for a living. I love someone not caring at all,’ he said.

News of Roman and Carmen’s relationship comes just months after Roman opened up about his desire to have children of his own as he confessed he is ‘terrified of not having kids’.Ā
Gushing over his close relationship with his parents he revealed the example they have set has made him want a family of his own.Ā
Speaking in an interview with Heat magazine in July, Roman admitted that he has also been concerned about his own infertility and went for a sperm check last year.Ā
The star confessed to the publication: ‘I’m terrified of not having kids. That is my biggest thing. I even went to have a sperm check when I was 30. I’m such a family orientated person. ‘
