Watch: Tommy Fury grilled over Molly-Mae Hague cheating allegations

Tommy Fury has refused to answer questions about cheating rumours and his split from Molly-Mae Hague in an intense TV grilling.

Fury appeared on This Morning to talk about his memoir, Lighting Can Strike Twice: My Life as a Fury, which is published today but Ben Shephard repeatedly pressed him on what had happened with Hague and whether they would get back together. Previously, the boxer has denied claims he has cheated on Hague with whom he shares his daughter Bambi.

He dodged a volley of questions, telling Shephard and co-host Cat Deeley to “let us deal with that in private”.

Tommy Fury has published his first memoir today, but if he was hoping to spend his This Morning interview speaking about his boxing career, he was in for a very different experience as host Ben Shephard bombarded him with questions about Molly-Mae Hague.

The couple, who were engaged and raise their daughter, Bambi, split in August after five years together. It came as a shock to fans and Hague’s social media statement about the break-up sparked speculation about whether Fury had cheated, although he denies it in his book.

Fury said: “I’m feeling good, it doesn’t take a genius to work out that it’s been very tough for me, it’s been a very hard time, but at the end of the day, I’ve just been knuckling down with my training, taking my daughter to ballet and swimming and messy play, just been keeping myself busy.

“There have been a lot of critics out there and there will be a lot of critics there till the day I die, and will point the finger when there’s a bandwagon to jump on, but out of respect to Molly and out of respect to myself and our relationship, I’m going to let us deal with that in private as much as we can. I’m just happy to be here and talk about my book, and I want to leave all that stuff to me and Molly, because I think we owe it to ourselves to do that.”

Shephard pointed out that Fury had added a chapter to his book about the cheating rumours and Fury replied: “A lot of stuff has been put out there, the whole world has seen what we’ve been going through for the past few months, but yeah, I added a last chapter where I talked about all my feelings and how I felt during this time and to keep everybody up to date. It has been tough but you can read about it in there.”

He added: “Me and Molly and Bambi are a family unit and we’re going to tackle this in private.”

Shephard asked him whether he would like to get back together with Hague and he said: “Like I said, they are my family and I’ll love them till the day I die.”

Earlier in the interview, looking back on meeting Hague on Love Island Fury said: “It feels like a lifetime ago, great memories. I remember it being the summer of a lifetime.”

Sharing that he only did the ITV dating show because his fight that summer had been cancelled, he added: “I had never seen it, didn’t know what I was getting myself into… but I ended up finding love and finding the mother of my child. It was a very eventful summer.”

Fury and Hague instantly hit it off when they met on 2019’s Love Island and although they didn’t win the show, they became fan favourites with a huge social media following after the show ended.

They welcomed daughter Bambi in January 2023 and got engaged that summer, but announced a shock split in August this year.

It came as a bombshell on 14 August as Fury had been sharing social media posts that suggested all was normal just hours earlier.

Hague went first, sharing her statement on Instagram stories which read: “Never in a million years did I think I’d ever have to write this. After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.

“I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end.

“I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority.

“I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all. Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time, I’ll be back when it feels right. Molly-Mae x”

Shortly afterwards, Fury shared his own statement which went into less detail and read: “I am heartbroken to share that Molly and I have decided to end our relationship.

“The past 5 years have led to us having our beautiful baby girl, Bambi and I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority.

“Please respect our privacy, and our families privacy, as we navigate our way through this difficult time.”

Since then, Hague has taken to social media to thank her fans for their support. “Thank you for being the best online friends I could’ve ever wished for,” she said.

Fury followed suit as he too thanked people for their support. He wrote: “These last few weeks have been heartbreaking. The false allegations about me have been horrendous, thank you to everybody who has stood by me through this.”

This Morning airs on ITV1 at 10am on weekdays.
