Israeli media outlet Kan 11 claimed Iran used about a third of its advanced ballistic missiles in last week’s huge and unprecedented attack on Israel.
Tehran has depleted one-third of its high-grade missiles in its latest attack on Israel, according to media reports.
Israeli state-owned outlet Kan 11 estimated that Iran is now left with around 400 top-tier missiles in its arsenal after using about 180 rockets against its neighbour earlier in October.
The missiles used in Iran’s recent attack accounted for one-sixth of Tehran’s total number of ballistic missiles, estimated at up to 2,000, according to international media reports.
In the aftermath of the strike, Israeli authorities said that most of the rockets were intercepted or missed their targets, with only a small number of missiles causing damage.
“Iran’s attacks were aggressive but lacked the necessary precision,” Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said during a visit to the country’s military intelligence division after the strike, adding that Israel’s response would be “deadly, accurate and surprising”.
Israel has still not responded to Tehran’s missile attack, however.
Iran’s recent display of strength came after a previous drone strike in April, and experts believe the missiles used in the latest attack all came from its more advanced stock.
Israel’s i24 News also quoted an Israeli official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, claiming that Iran “wasted” a significant part of its advanced capabilities in that operation and had not yet “achieved” its objectives.
