Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed that 2024 contestant Nick Knowles will not compete in this week’s live show.
In a statement shared on the show’s official Instagram account, Strictly announced that the DIY SOS star will miss a week due to injury but is hopeful he will return the following week.
“Unfortunately Nick Knowles sustained an injury during rehearsals and as a result, will not dance this weekend,” it said.

“As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again. Everyone at Strictly Come Dancing wishes Nick a speedy recovery.”
Neither Nick nor Strictly have shared specific details of his injury. It’s unknown if it is a new injury or is related to his previous arm injury that he sustained in late September.
The TV handyman was forced to take time out of rehearsals last week after injuring his arm while changing a tyre at the weekend.

Nick later shared an update alongside a photo of his arm in a sling on Instagram, confirming his return to rehearsals last Wednesday after seeking medical advice.
He and his professional partner Luba Mushtuk then went on to perform their American Smooth routine to Blur’s ‘Parklife’ on last Saturday’s live show, receiving a total of 21 points from the judges.
The couple had been set to dance a Charleston to the song ‘Rain on the Roof’ from Paddington 2 for this weekend’s Movie Week special.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
