I do, I do, I do: 100 couples wed in one day

What better way to celebrate 100 years as an iconic wedding venue than by hosting 100 weddings in a single day?

Old Marylebone Town Hall, in Westminster, did exactly that. By 10pm last night, 100 couples had whizzed through its walnut-panelled rooms, promising to love and support each other for the rest of their lives, just as 125,000 couples had done before them. This time, each paid a special centenary knock-down rate of just £100 for the privilege.

Since hosting its first marriage ceremony in 1924, the town hall has become one of the most popular register offices in the country, notable for its many celebrity weddings.
