Two years ago, Deidre sat on our sofa to reveal that, after symptoms prompted her to book in for her first mammogram in nearly 10 years, an ultrasound and biopsy in a cluster of malignant cells were discovered in her right breast.
Then aged 77, Deidre underwent successful treatment for breast cancer and has been living cancer free. However, earlier this month, Deidre discovered during a checkup that early signs of her cancer had returned.
She’s here alongside Dr Nighat this morning to update us on what happens next, and why she’s determined to make sure women keep up their checks – whatever their age.
