Prince Harry swears on Jimmy Fallon before crew member ‘fails to recognise him’

Must read

Prince Harry could be seen taking a tour of a haunted maze during his Thursday night appearance with Tonight show host Jimmy Fallon – and he looked visibly shaken.

The poor prince even swore at one point after being left terrified, as he could be heard shouting: “Jesus, f***!” The 40-year-old former working royal had headed to New York’s Rockefeller Center to try out the Tonightmares immersive horror experience.

He was tasked with running away from the shadowy characters who confronted him, from “a deranged and diabolical mad scientist” to “malfunctioning murder robots” and a “terrifying werewolf”. However, one thing the Prince hadn’t bargained for was meeting a creepy cast member who didn’t recognise him at all.

One comedy moment in the skit, which was screened on NBC, saw an actress playing a zombie appear totally confused by who the royal was. She asked a colleague after he passed by: “Who was that?”

Harry seemed equally confused when he joked that another actor resembled one of his famous pals – the Canadian singer Michael Buble. However, he did well overall as he navigated the “labyrinth” across ten “spine-chilling” rooms said to represent host Jimmy Fallon’s biggest fears.

The appearance was the latest in a series of activities Harry has taken part in solo, after he headed to New York on his own.

Normally seen with wife Meghan Markle by his side, whether giving speeches in the USA or taking trips to Colombia and Nigeria, she was notable this week by her absence.

Harry has been undertaking charity work during a visit which coincided with the UN General Assembly and Climate Week.

Another appearance took a more serious note as Harry, who previously branded social media platforms more addictive than alcohol and drugs, accused them of “targeting” kids.

Speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative, following an appearance by Bill Clinton himself, he said it was children’s “safety” that concerned him.

“Why do the leaders of these insanely powerful social media companies still refuse to change? Why are we holding them to the lowest ethical standards?” he asked.

“Some say kids will be kids and well, that may well be true. Kids may get into trouble. I know a thing or two about that – but our kids are being targeted.

“The harmful effects of social media are made by design.”

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson has told of how he stepped in to try to prevent Harry and Meghan from leaving the UK – read all about it here.
