Naomi Campbell banned as charity trustee over misuse of funds

Naomi Campbell has been banned from running charities for five years after an investigation found widespread financial misconduct at her anti-poverty fundraising body.

The supermodel enjoyed a stay at a five-star hotel in Cannes, where she used funds from her Fashion for Relief charity to pay for spa treatments, room service and cigarettes. A Charity Commission inquiry found that of £4.8 million generated by the charity at fashion events from 2016 to 2022, only £389,000 found its way to good causes.

Campbell, 54, founded the charity in 2005, saying she had been inspired by her “honourable mentor”, Nelson Mandela. She vowed to use it to “unite the fashion industry as a force for good” by providing relief during humanitarian disasters and giving health and education
