It has been a very busy year for Joe, as he’d previously signed on to star opposite fellow Strictly Come Dancing alumni Stacey Dooley in the cast of 2:22 – A Ghost Story on London’s West End.

The pair appeared in the spooky stage production for a limited run in the spring and summer, alongside Donna Air and James Buckley.

“I’m really stoked to be returning to the West End in this much-loved hit show and its latest production at the Gielgud Theatre with this fantastic cast,” Joe said at the time of his casting. “It’s a beautifully crafted script that has plenty of scares and is hilarious in places, and I can’t wait to see what audiences make of our version.”

Joe isn’t the only Strictly alumni to announce his engagement this month, as Olympian Adam Peaty recently confirmed he’d popped the question to girlfriend Holly Ramsay.

“I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife,” he wrote on the social media platform. “I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side. You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
