Police had launched the appeal for sightings of a blue BMW X3 estate car following a report of a woman in distress in Carlisle on the evening of Saturday, September 21.
This was near the London Road retail park and the Pizza Hut outlet. The car drove south in the direction of Cumwhinton Road.
Police have confirmed that the woman has been found ‘safe and well’.
A Carlisle police spokesperson said: “Carlisle police can confirm that a man has contacted officers and is helping with enquiries following an appeal earlier today for sightings of a BMW car in Carlisle.
“The woman officers had concerns about has been found and is safe and well.
“Officers would like to thank everyone who shared the appeal.”
