I’m an American living in the UK… these are the British drinks I think are weird – there was one that made me want to throw up

An American man living in the UK has revealed the British drinks he has liked and loathed – and one that made him want to throw up,

TikTok user @KJordyyy took to the social media platform to share the drinks commonly found in UK shops that he was amazed by the most.

Introducing the video, he said: ‘I have to show you all the drinks I have never seen before in my life’.

First up, he waxed lyrical about the classic Scottish staple of Irn Bru, which he said reminded him of cream soda.

Confessing his new-found love for the beverage, he said: ‘Irn Bru has my heart’.

Moving on, he picked out a bottle of orange-flavoured Lucozade Sport, which he compared to Gatorade but warned anyone unfamiliar with it that the drink has a particularly sweet taste.

After pointing out other fizzy drinks common in shops across the UK, such as Vimto, Lucozade Energy and Bigga, the vlogger was intrigued by the variety of Fanta flavours on offer to Brits compared those available in the United States.

He said: ‘I have never seen Fanta Fruit Twist, Lemon, or Pineapple and Grapefruit’.

Moving on to a non-carbonated beverage, the content creator could not understand the love that Brits have for squash.

He noted: ‘It’s like a concentrated juice you mix with water. I almost threw up the first time I tried it’.

Reacting to his video in the comments section, other users were shocked by his revelation that squash was an uncommon item to find Stateside.

They replied: ‘Wait Americans don’t have squash’.

Another said: ‘Dude, if you don’t like squash you might just need to get the ratio right, pretty much everyone likes it a different strength and can be hard to judge’.

One viewer wrote: ‘Squash is so so cheap to make, that’s why it’s so popular in the uk. Instead of buying a 2 dollar drink everyday, just use squash and fill your flask everyday for 5 cents’.

Another said: ‘Sad you didn’t find some Dandelion & Burdock, that’s a good drink we sell’.

One posted: ‘Cream soda must be different in the US because every American says Irn Bru is like cream soda and it is NOT like any cream soda we have here.’

Another shared: ‘Irn Bru does not taste like Cream Soda. Cream Soda (here in the UK at least) has a slight vanilla flavour’.
