A prominent American political reporter has been placed on leave after she admitted having a personal relationship with Robert F Kennedy Jr while he was running for president.
Olivia Nuzzi, the 31-year-old Washington correspondent for New York magazine, is alleged to have shared sexual text messages with the 70-year-old independent candidate after visiting his home in California for an interview.
After the allegation of a relationship was made by the Status media news website on Thursday, Nuzzi confessed that the “nature of some communications between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal”.
