Iranian hackers sent stolen material from Donald Trump’s presidential campaign to senior Democrats planning the re-election campaigns of President Biden and Kamala Harris.
Trump’s team revealed last month that they had complained to law enforcement about an alleged hack, which included a “vetting dossier” on his running-mate, JD Vance. A few days later the FBI confirmed that Iran was behind it.
Now, in a joint statement, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said the stolen information had been sent in late June and early July to “individuals then associated with President Biden’s campaign”.
