The 33-year-old Delvey (born Anna Sorokin) is best known for defrauding wealthy New Yorkers and other institutions of over $275K between 2013 and 2017.

She served nearly four years in prison and has paid back all of the funds she stole from various victims, though she took issue with The View criticizing her joining DWTS, following showing off a bejeweled ankle bracelet.

She was granted permission by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to appear on DWTS, which Whoopi Goldberg complained about on The View.

During Monday’s episode of The View, host Alyssa Farah Griffin issued an on-air apology during Monday’s episode, with Delvey’s lawyer Duncan Levin issuing a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

During the September 5 broadcast of The View, Goldberg wasn’t the only host to express her disappointment with Delvey’s casting.

Sunny Hostin said, ‘I like a come-up, but when are there consequences to people’s actions?’

The host that Delvey and her lawyer took the most issue with was Alyssa Farrah Griffin, who said, ‘She still owes people money. Con artists tend to remain con artists.’

Delvey took to X (formerly Twitter) the next morning, stating, ‘While you are entitled to your own opinions, you should at least get your facts straight. I served my time and paid everyone back in full 3+ years ago. Looking forward to your on-air correction.’

On Monday, The View hosts revealed they were contacted by Levin, with Griffin reading a correction statement to the camera.

‘We recently discussed Anna Delvey, the convicted fraudster, noting she will be on Dancing With the Stars and questioning the fairness of her being on the show as it is an opportunity that most other convicted criminals and immigrants seeking asylum simply do not have,’ Griffin began.

‘After that discussion, we heard from Ms. Delvey’s lawyer, who strongly objected to our saying that, quote, “She still owes people money,”‘ Griffin added.

‘He argued that statement falsely suggests she still owes restitution to her fraud victims. And he provided a document from the Office of Victim Services that he says proves, quote, “All of Miss Delvey’s restitution has been repaid in full and all the victims have been fully compensated,” end quote,’ she added.

Griffin concluded, ‘We are all looking forward to the new season of Dancing With the Stars premiering tomorrow night right here on ABC.’

After The View’s on-air correction, Levin issued a statement of his own, thanking The View for their statement.

‘We are thankful that The View has corrected their false and defamatory statements about Ms. Delvey,’ Levin’s statement began.

‘Like so many others, Anna has made mistakes and, most importantly, she has made amends by serving both time in prison and repaying all her debts in full. Anna deserves a second chance and accepts The View’s apology,’ Levin concluded.
