Ruth Langsford is said to have enlisted the help of a “fierce” divorce solicitor amid her split from husband of 14 years, Eamonn Holmes. The former This Morning presenters, both 64, called it quits on their marriage back in May.
At the time, they released a statement saying: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
Ruth and Eamonn first met in 1997 and were married in 2010. Their son Jack was born in 2002.
Now it has been reported that Ruth has hired Catherine Costley to help her with a financial settlement in the divorce. Ms Costley is known for her fierce approach to divorce settlements and has said all women should have a ‘go bag’ fund when exiting a relationship.
The savvy solicitor has represented some big names and A-list stars in the past, including Paul McCartney, Liam Gallagher and Madonna.
She was also an apprentice of ‘Steel Magnolia’ Baroness Fiona Shackleton – Britain’s highest-profile divorce lawyer who famously represented Charles in his split from Diana in 1996.
While the Loose Women presenter is said to be seeking legal advice, Eamonn has recently jetted off on holiday with his new partner, Katie Alexander, 42.
The Northern Irish presenter has been open about his new relationship with the pair pictured enjoying two holidays together over the summer.
Yesterday, the pair packed on the PDA during their trip to Ibiza. The former This Morning presenter – who was still wearing his wedding ring – was pictured looking up admiringly at Katie while sitting in a motorised wheelchair.
In the photos, the pair left onlookers blushing as Eamonn cheekily grabbed Katie’s bottom as the two looked to be heading on a night out.
Meanwhile, sources claimed that Ruth and her pals are “gobsmacked” by Eamonn’s romantic trip with his new girlfriend. It was reported that someone close to the couple said: “Eamonn’s zest for her [Katie] – the latest being this all-expenses-paid trip – has wowed Ruth and pals. He has found a new lease of life for sure. Everyone is amazed.”
They added: “The cruise is just the latest proof of their closeness. Katie has been telling pals she and Eamonn are going to be for keeps – and now everyone is starting to believe her.”
