Ant McPartlin has given a rare insight into life with his son Wilder, four months, after he became a father for the first time at 48.
The television presenter, 48, welcomed his first child Wilder with his wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, already a mother of two, on May 14.
Opening up about has he has been getting on, Ant told the Daily Star: ‘I’m really good, I’m really happy. There are lots of nappies and sleepless nights but it’s absolutely wonderful. I’m loving it. It’s been the best year.
Ant revealed he has been getting some ‘good advice’ from Dec, 48, who shares daughter Isla, six, and son Jack, two, with his wife Ali Astall, 45.
But, Dec was not as convinced, saying: ‘I do share tips and things. They’re very bad. My tips are normally: give the baby to somebody else! That’s it.’

Ant announced the arrival of Wilder on his and Dec’s Instagram page, writing: ‘Welcome to the family Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am.
‘Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess! ❤️’
He accompanied the news with a black-and-white photograph of himself cradling his new arrival.
The photo showed off a large tattoo he has on his bicep of a tree with the words ‘Amzie’, ‘Daisy’, ‘Poppy’, and ‘Bumble’.
Amzie is Ant’s nickname for his wife Anne-Marie will Daisy, 15, and Poppy, 13, are Anne-Marie’s daughters from a previous relationship. Bumble is the family dog.
Ant split from his first wife, make-up artist Lisa Armstrong, in 2018, after 11 years of marriage.
He went public with his relationship with Anne-Marie, who entered their lives as a personal assistant, six months later.
The former couple never had children but adopted chocolate Labrador Hurley in 2013 – and they have been locked in an ongoing battle for custody of the dog.
Ant had previously said: ‘Lisa and I would love to have kids. We’re trying. It’s tougher than you think when you get a bit older.’
Lisa shares joint custody of Hurley with Ant but reports say she wants sole possession of him – something he is said to have resisted.
But she has reportedly vowed to fight on for sole custody of the chocolate Labrador, who regularly features in her Instagram posts, where she refers to him as ‘Mama’s baby boy’.
Ant is said to have refused to surrender full custody of Hurley to his ex during their reported £31million divorce battle, reportedly telling lawyers: ‘She can have anything she wants – except the dog.’

Lisa recently jetted off to sun-soaked LA for what sources have claimed was a ‘healing journey’ last month
Lisa was said to have expressed a wish to care for the Lab full-time in February – and friends close to the make-up artist say that desire is stronger than ever following the birth of Ant’s first-born.
‘She felt very betrayed by both Ant and Anne-Marie and felt that none of this has been handled sensitively, especially the announcement of the baby,’ sources have told The Sun.
‘The one thing that has got her through it and been by her side constantly is Hurley – she doesn’t know what she would do without him. He’s more than just a dog to her and has been a lifeline at times.’
They added: ‘Ant obviously loves Hurley as well but he now has a lot of other responsibilities and things going on in his life and Lisa can’t see why she can’t have full custody of him. She needs Hurley by her side.’
The former couple reportedly agreed to take it in turns to look after Hurley, with the arrangement seeing Ant’s chauffeur ferrying the dog between them so they did not have to see each other.

As well as hiking together near the Hollywood sign she’s also posted beaming selfies ahead of her return to work on Strictly Come Dancing.
A source told New! Magazine: ‘Lisa has been struggling ever since Ant announced he had become a dad – while her friends and family have been so supportive, she just knew she had to get away.’
On Wednesday, Ant and Dec won the award for best TV Presenter for a record 23rd time – in a row
‘So as soon as she got the chance, she flew to LA to be with her best friend and just reflect on everything’.
