Loewe × On Makes Activewear Luxe

Loewe has taken its relationship with Swiss athletic brand On to the next level. The pair’s latest collaboration is an entire collection (out May 23) featuring activewear, outerwear, and footwear.

In a press release, the two brands teased: “There is an emphasis on simplicity and optimization throughout: flowing color-blocked performance fabrics engineered in natural tones, as well as statement outerwear for all weather conditions.” The highlight of this collection is the Cloudtilt, a new “lifestyle shoe that is made to move.”

Otherwise, the pieces range from parkas and tanks to bike shorts and socks. And to emphasize the seriousness of the collaboration, the clothes even feature a brand-new logo that fuses the insignia of both Loewe and On. Now that’s commitment.

Emilia Wickstead Releases the Clothes of Your Vacay Dreams

London-based fashion designer Emilia Wickstead (favorite of celebrities like Princess Kate) has teamed up with five-star Italian hotel Passalacqua for a new vacationwear collection, which went on sale May 15.

In a press release, Wickstead praised Valentina De Santis, owner of the Lake Como villa, saying she and her family “have the most impeccable taste and have transformed Passalacqua into a paradise where time stands still. The lifestyle and visual language she has created at the hotel is so inspiring. I hope this collection transports the wearer and makes them feel the same sense of vibrancy, ease, and sophistication.”

The new collection features swimsuits and kaftans in two unique prints. You can shop it now at the boutique hotel or at the Emilia Wickstead flagship store in London.

Hugo Boss Inks a Deal With David Beckham

While Loewe is already getting sporty, Hugo Boss just signed a strategic deal with former soccer star David Beckham earlier this week, a global collaboration in which the athlete and model will help evolve the Boss menswear collections.

“David Beckham is a true global icon in both sports and fashion,” Hugo Boss CEO Daniel Grieder said. “With his distinctive entrepreneurial spirit and authentic passion for fashion, he perfectly embodies the values of our Boss brand. We are very much looking forward to seeing the first collections come to life and working closely with David throughout this multiyear partnership.”

Beckham has previously partnered with a number of major brands, including Adidas and Emporio Armani, and it seems he’s been itching to get back into the field. “Over the last few years, I’ve been wanting to invest more time in design and fashion,” he said in a statement. “I’ve really enjoyed the collaboration with Boss so far and have been impressed by the team’s ambition, creativity, and desire for excellence.”

Chanel Goes Literary with a Podcast for Writers

In case you’ve missed it, Chanel House ambassador and spokesperson Charlotte Casiraghi has launched a series of podcasts that invite women writers to come and talk about their careers, with the series “Les rencontres” specifically focusing on women who have just published their first book.

In the latest episode, author and critic Erica Wagner in conversation with writer Michelle Min Sterling, whose novel Camp Zero arrived in 2023.

Throughout their chat, the duo talk about Sterling’s book and the inspirations that helped bring it to life, as well as the themes at the story’s center, such as environmental destruction and feminism.

GUESS Goes Green

With the global consumer launch of GUESS JEANS, the established American brand GUESS is taking a more eco-friendly approach to their designs, revamping a process that they’ve been using for the past forty years.

This week, the brand teased a new collection—which goes on sale May 21—that was made with their new concept, called GUESS Airwash. This technique purportedly uses significantly less water in the production process, and it is a total overhaul from the stonewash method the company has been using since their inception in 1981.

To kick off the exciting new process, model Iris Law is being used as the first face of the campaign, with other stars set to be revealed over the coming weeks.
