Charlie Mullins adores the view of the Shard and the London Eye from the balcony of his dream home on the River Thames. Directly behind the apartment complex is the district of Pimlico, where the outspoken entrepreneur spun a fortune out of fixing the pipes of the area’s Regency houses.
Despite his deep ties to the capital Mullins, 71, has had enough. The founder of Pimlico Plumbers, who grew up on a south London council estate, has become a permanent resident in Marbella, Spain. Mullins plans to return to London in September to begin the process of selling his £10 million-plus apartment, which is decked out with a cocktail bar and a £180,000 red Steinway piano.
