David Beckham has sneaked into the top ten richest sportsmen in Britain – spearheaded by Newcastle’s minority owners.
The Sunday Times’ 2024 Rich List has been revealed online, with a number of iconic sportsmen from the UK included.
England skipper Harry Kane has featured in the 40 under 40 list, which also includes Lewis Hamilton, Rory McIlroy and Anthony Joshua.
The Bayern Munich striker’s fantastic season on a personal level just keeps getting better having banged in 45 goals so far in his first campaign in Germany,
But no active professional athlete comes close to being included in the top ten richest sportsmen in Britain.

1. David and Simon Reuben and family – £24.977bn (third overall)
The Indian-born brothers own a ten per cent stake in Newcastle following the club’s Saudi takeover in 2021.
The family made their fortune in the metal trading industry and next year,their value is set to rise even further as they hope to open a
a 100-room hotel in Admiralty Arch on The Mall.
2. Sir Jim Ratcliffe – £23.519bn (fourth overall)
The 71-year-old, who made his money in the chemical sector, purchased a 27.7 per cent stake in Manchester United in February.
Ineos chief Ratcliffe is also the owner of French side Nice having bought the Ligue 1 outfit in 2019.
Despite his place in the ranking, though, the Brit’s wealth has actually decreased since the 2023 Rich List was published – by more than £6bn.

3. Daniel Kretinsky – £6bn (33rd overall)
Known as the Czech Sphinx, Kretinsky owns significant stakes in West Ham.
He is also Royal Mail’s largest shareholder, and he even owns significant stakes in supermarket chain Sainsbury’s.
4. Bernie Ecclestone and family – £1.844bn (92)nd overall
The 93-year-old Formula 1 magnate started his career off as a driver, where he raced twice in the 1958 season.
He then owned the Brabham team before becoming the chief executive of the Formula One Group.
And he was even the co-owner of QPR alongside Flavio Briatore between 2007 and 2011.
Ecclestone pleaded guilty to tax fraud in October, where he made a payment of £652.6m payment to ensured he escaped with a 17-month suspended sentence.

5. Mike Danson – £1.349bn (125th overall)
The GlobalData billionaire is the owner of Rugby Super League side Wigan Warriors.
In the last year, he has banked more than £36m in share sales and dividends.
6. David Sullivan and family – £1.168bn joint-150th overall)
The 75-year-old is the chairman of West Ham and largest single shareholder of the club following David Gold’s death.
Sullivan launched the Daily Sport and Sunday Sport, before selling the newspapers for £40m in 2007.
7. Barry and Eddie Hearn and family – £900m (joint-185th overall)
Barry launched Matchroom Sport in 1982, where he transformed the world of snooker and boxing.
His son Eddie has taken the promotion to the next level, where he oversees the careers of boxers Joshua, Dmitry Bivol and Katie Taylor, to name just a few.

8. Tony Bloom – £716m (233rd overall)
Known for being the owner of Brighton, Bloom has made his fortune in the property and gambling industry.
And he is known for being a savvy businessman, with the Seagulls’ sale of Moises Caicedo to Chelsea last season breaking the English record at £115m.
9. Steve Gibson – £640m (joint-253rd overall)
Gibson has been Middlesbrough’s owner and chairman since 1994.
A former Labour councillor at the age of 21, his logistics company, Bulkhaul, has delivered him a fortune over the decades.
10. David and Victoria Beckham – £455m (joint-297th overall)
The Manchester United and England legend’s decision to sign Lionel Messi for his Inter Miami side has transformed the couple’s wealth in the last 12 months.
It has helped push the valuation of the MLS outfit to $1bn [£789m].

As for iconic Spice Girl Victoria, she now stages catwalk shows during Paris Fashion Week and has just launched a range of clothes for the Spanish chain Mango.
The couple, whose portfolio is worth about £90m, also starred in their own Netflix show – Beckham – which was the most-watched documentary in the world last year.
Posh and Becks also took on lucrative advertising roles, starring in TV spots for Uber Eats which aired during the Super Bowl in the US.
