The social media accounts for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater have been updated ahead of the 25th anniversary of the seminal skater title, which launched for PSOne back on September 29, 1999.
This may not mean anything other than acknowledging the anniversary, although there’s bound to be folk hoping that we may be getting something a little more special, such as a new entry in the series. We’ve already got a full-blown remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 a few years ago, so we’d probably be spoilt if the original game were to be remade again. But hey, we can dream, right?

While Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was originally released for the PSOne and became synonymous with Sony’s 32-bit system, the game also made its way to multiple platforms over the next year or so, including Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, and Dreamcast. Aside from receiving rave reviews, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is also credited with bringing skateboarding to a mainstream audience, and is widely cited as one of the best games ever made.
