A British man has died after plunging from the sixth-floor of a building in the Palma, Majorca in front of horrified tourists.
Police are investigating the incident after the alarm was raised around 2pm today and have confirmed this evening that he was a British national. Local reports have said the he was 64-years-old.
It was not immediately clear today if he was resident in Majorca or a holidaymaker.
The ongoing probe is being led by a Spanish National Police Homicide unit, although there is no suggestion at this stage the death is being treated as suspicious.
The police force could not be reached for comment this afternoon.

Several tourists at the hotel are said to have witnessed the tragedy.
Emergency responders raced to the scene but were unable to do anything to save the man.
On Tuesday night a British teenager was rushed to hospital ‘seriously injured’ after falling from the first floor of a property in Majorca.
The 15-year-old girl was stabilised at the scene before being taken to Son Espases Hospital in Palma.
The incident happened in Sant Llorenc des Cardassar near to the Love Island villa in the north-east of Majorca.
A code red is said to have been activated because of the extent of the youngster’s injuries.

The tragedy occurred at a seafront four-star adult-only hotel called Hotel Vibra District.
On August 17 a 28-year-old British holidaymaker died in a 15-foot fall at a hotel in Palmanova near Magaluf in Majorca after a night out partying.
The dead man’s partner had to be treated for a panic attack later in the day.
The incident happened at the four-star Reverence Mare Hotel in Palmanova.
The alarm was raised around 7am, although the holidaymaker is believed to have fallen to his death several hours earlier.
Civil Guard investigators believe he suffered his fatal accident after trying to enter the wrong hotel following a night out partying and losing his way during an attempted short-cut.
