An Oasis fan from Hull was in tears after he purchased tickets to see the band.
Urban Newton, 25, secured his place at the reunion concert having been successful in an online ballot.
Fans who weren’t selected in the ballot to receive an early access code had to spend hours on a ticket website on Saturday morning.
Mr Newton told the PA news agency “it could be the best day of my life”.
Mr Newton, a marketing assistant, said: “When it came to getting tickets, I’ve been unable to think about anything else. Work has been a write-off.
“I refused to get even remotely excited at the thought of seeing Noel and Liam on stage together until those tickets were mine.
“I’m actually in tears.”
As many fans looked back in anger at browsers crashing or being kicked out the queue, social media lit up on Saturday with an out-pouring of moaning and jokes.
One man, also from Hull, posted a picture of a huge queue outside Acklams coaches in the city.
“A seriously long queue in Hull,” he noted. “My guess is everyone is waiting for Oasis tickets from Acklams.”
Another joked that he was hoping to swap his pair of Oasis Wembley tickets for a three-bedroom end-of-terrace house.
Meanwhile, the frontman of Hull band Ted Key and the Kingstons posted: “You could buy 100 tickets to see us for the same price. Go on…we dare you!”
Fans who have just given up completely on partying along with the Gallagher brothers might want to consider Noasis, a tribute band.
They are putting on an additional show at the Social in Hull on Friday 18 October, due to the “high demand”. Their other two dates are already sold out.
Unfortunately, their website is also very busy and displayed the message: “Currently processing the maximum possible number of bookings we are able to handle at one time.”
