Jeremy Clarkson pub draws punters from US and Dubai — but he says it won’t succeed

Three hours before Jeremy Clarkson opened the doors of his new Cotswolds pub, a queue snaking for 300 metres had formed, with people travelling from as far afield as America and Dubai.

The global popularity of Clarkson’s Farm, the Amazon series charting the former Top Gear host’s bumpy journey to becoming a farmer, has won him a wealth of fans willing to turn up at whatever his latest business venture is, be it a small farm shop, a brewery or a pub.

Getting adoring fans through the door will not be a problem, but making money in a pub that uses only British produce — the premise of Clarkson’s latest project — will be.
