Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck‘s reignited romance was ‘doomed from the beginning’ as the singer has a history of ‘rushing into marriage’, a relationship expert has suggested.
Speaking to FEMAIL, London-based dating coach Kate Mansfield revealed that while the pairing seemed ‘idyllic’ to many, several reasons are at play as to why the popstar, 55, has filed for divorce on the second anniversary of her stunning Georgia wedding ceremony to the actor, 52.
Jennifer is clearly a ‘hopeless romantic, eager to find a deep, meaningful connection’, she expressed.
‘In contrast, Ben was navigating a rebound after a serious relationship.
‘This mismatch in emotional readiness meant that while Jen was looking for lasting love, Ben might have been seeking comfort rather than commitment.’

Kate also thinks that the couple were keen to start their lives together, and may have hurried over some much needed time to get to relearn who they are.
‘Rather than taking time to solidify their relationship, they jumped into an engagement,’ she continued.
‘This hurried pace often prevents couples from addressing potential conflicts or understanding each other’s deeper needs and values.
‘For Bennifer, this meant overlooking fundamental differences that could impact their long-term compatibility.’
To make matters more challenging, there was a public pressure on the famed couple to make it work.
‘Their relationship was under constant media scrutiny,’ Kate said. ‘This pressure can distort genuine feelings, pushing couples into decisions—like getting engaged—before they fully understand their compatibility.
‘The focus on their celebrity status often overshadows the personal aspects of their relationship, and distorts reality.’
She also felt that Ben perhaps missed ‘serious red flags’ with Jennifer’s approach to marriage.

‘Lopez’s marriages were even the focus of her music video Can’t Get Enough,’ Kate continued.
‘Perhaps Ben needed some coaching before jumping in so fast?’
Jennifer finally confirmed the rumors that have swirled for months when she filed to divorce her husband Ben on Tuesday.
The shocking legal documents, which were obtained by DailyMail.com, were filed just over two years after the couple tied the knot in a breathtaking wedding ceremony at his $8.9 million Georgia mansion surrounded by family, friends and A-Listers.
The celebrity couple known as ‘Bennifer,’ wowed the audience with Jennifer wearing a stunning white, Ralph Lauren couture gown complete with long train and veil, while Ben looked sharp in complementary white and black tuxedo.
Photographs shot from above showed the picture-perfect A-listers embracing one another through smiles at a waterside jetty, outside their enormous mansion, and while walking along a snowy white altar set up especially for the day.
But the two — who will have to agree on a way to divide their $640 million net worth without a prenuptial agreement — have been swamped by signs of trouble in paradise for a considerable time before Jennifer decided to make their split official.
In the final months of their marriage, they had been seen in increasingly awkward and tense public encounters that, in hindsight, signaled that their marriage was potentially doomed.
JLo and Ben first started dating in 2002 after bonding on set of the film Gigli, and they quickly got engaged.
But they called it quits in 2004, just before they were set to become husband and wife.
They both went on to wed other people – she exchanged vows with Mac Anthony in 2004, while he walked down the aisle with Jennifer Garner in 2005 – but after splitting from their respective partners, they eventually got back together.
They rekindled their love in 2021 and went on to wed in Las Vegas in July 2022.
But now, after months of ongoing rumors that their marriage was ending, Jennifer has filed for divorce.
She listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024, as per legal docs seen by DailyMail.com.
The couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot, insiders have revealed.
Ben previously spoke about wanting to keep their relationship ‘private’ in JLo’s documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
The film followed the making of her latest album, This Is Me… Now, most of which was inspired by her romance with Ben
During one part of the movie, Ben admitted that he was ‘taken aback’ when he found her musicians rifling through his private love letters which JLo had given them to look at as inspiration for her next album.
The actor had clung onto his correspondence with the singer during his 13-year marriage to Garner – and later had the letters and emails bound into a book to gift her when they reunited in 2021.
