Now that the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred DLC steadily creeps its way into Sanctuary and onto gaming platforms worldwide, Blizzard continues to tease more details regarding the expansion. As part of its latest teaser at Gamescom Opening Night Live, the dev team highlighted the Pale Hand, the new mercenary companions you can bring alongside you as you venture through Nahantu with the Spiritborn class.

You’ll be able to hire four of these units to help you in battle, and each one of them will have their own unique abilities that can help distract, control, and dominate demon hordes. One of the companions you can recruit can transform themselves into a demon that can wreak fiery havoc on mobs. At the same time, another can use a skill similar to the Barbarian’s Steel Grasp to pull enemies in, making it easier to eliminate them all at once.

If you prefer a magic-casting, arrow-dealing backline damage dealer while you tank hordes, you can also recruit one. Of course, their services won’t come free; they’ll likely cost a ton of gold, though, of course, you’ll have to wait until the expansion drops to find out how much you’ll need to spend. But aside from the mercenaries, Blizzard also stated that it will be introducing a new co-op endgame PvE experience called the Dark Citadel that will not only test your combat skill but also your puzzle-solving acumen.

Luckily, with the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred DLC release date coming soon, you won’t have to wait long to experience all the new features arriving with it. If you’re still enjoying the current update, check out our guides on how to get Resplendent Sparks in Diablo 4 Season 5 instead.
