A beloved BBC personality has bid a heartfelt goodbye after a memorable five-year stint at the broadcasting giant. Radio host Elise Evans, 34, took to social media to announce her departure from her cherished spot at BBC Birmingham and Black Country radio, sparking a wave of sadness among her dedicated fanbase who are eager for her to “go out with a bang”.
Even as she kept quiet about her future plans, Elise extended a hearty thanks to her ardent supporters for accompanying her through her journey on-air.
Taking to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, she expressed mixed emotions: “I’m leaving @bbcwm. What a mad 5 years! Highs and lows but got to work with some lovely folk and had some brill experiences. Time for some new adventures. Last show is 25th August and we’re going out with a BANG! More info coming soon! For now, Radio WM – thnx 4 the memories x.”(sic)
Further touching notes, Elise shared snapshots with celebrated guests like Niall Horan and Fleur East, eliciting a poignant response in the comments where listeners voiced their appreciation for her bubbly presence on the radio.
Fellow BBC presenter Rakeem Omar shared his admiration as well: “In the same 5 years I’ve had, I’ve watched you achieve so many amazing things there has never been anyone like you Elise and there never will be.”
