The paper says that, according to figures detailed in the MPs’ register of interests, 213 of the 404 Labour MPs took union money to help them fight the election. Metro leads with a story that has featured heavily in the papers this weekend – plans by the government to treat extreme misogyny like terrorism. “War on women haters” reads the paper’s main headline. The i newspaper leads with the result of an investigation that has found that almost 3,000 children and teenagers are thought to have been spiked with dangerous drugs in the past three years. Headteachers the paper spoke to have told of children being rushed to hospital after using spiked vapes. The Daily Express front page once again features an article on the winter fuel payment, which Chancellor Rachel Reeves has proposed scrapping for many pensioners. The paper says all six Conservative leadership contenders have backed the paper’s campaign for a U-turn on this. The Daily Mirror leads with an interview with the sister of a British woman who died after having cosmetic surgery in Turkey and who has been highly critical of the clinic where the procedure was carried out, calling for it to be shut down. The clinic in question says the cause of death can only be determined by a coroner but that they thought the woman may have died after one of the blood vessels to her lung became blocked. “Peru alien mummies have mobile comms” reads the headline of the Daily Star, referring to the ongoing investigation into strange figures found in the South American country, which are thought by some to be extraterrestrial. The latest claim, made by a controversial Mexican journalist, is that experts have found phone-style communication devices inside the bodies.
