Help! My Skoda’s failed its MOT — it’s only done 14,000 miles

Must read

My Skoda Yeti instantly failed its MOT before it was even tested because the traction-control warning and ABS (anti-lock braking) lights were illuminated — even though both systems seem to work. Is this a common problem on cars like mine? It’s only done 14,000 miles.

If those lights are on, then there is an issue with one of the systems. They are closely related, technically speaking, and both use the same sensors and actuators. Faults of this nature, which often are related to one of the wheel-speed sensors, are common to all cars. A simple diagnostic check should reveal the issue. If it is just a sensor, the cost of the repair shouldn’t be too significant.
