Former Coronation Street and Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has revealed she is expecting a baby with her partner, Joe McKalroy.

The star, who played Courtney Vance and Sinead O’Connor on the respective soaps, shares a son, Caben, with former Celebrity Big Brother star Jeremy McConnell, and has now revealed to OK! Magazine that she is expecting a son with McKalroy, whom she began dating in 2021.

“Joe and I just wanted it to be the two of us when we found out – it was so emotional,” she recalled. “When the nurse said it was a boy, and the lights in the room went blue… it’s a moment we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.”

“Joe never cries, so when he started that set me off. We were just sobbing on each other. Then the nurse in the room started crying, too,” she added, before detailing the moment she told Caben of the news.

“He was adorable. We took a video, and it’s so cute watching a little seven-year-old process that he’s getting a sibling. He points at me and goes, ‘Is that why you’ve got a lump in your tummy?’ It was just beautiful, the three of us on the beach.”

The pair also shared that McKalroy had predicted the baby would be a boy, with Davis adding: “As my family say, I’m a cool boys’ mum. I’m a total pro at boys and all we want is a healthy baby. I’ll be ganged up on now though. Three against one.”

Davis, who departed Corrie last year, later described the pregnancy as a “rollercoaster” following her miscarriage in 2021, sharing: “After my previous miscarriage, I thought, ‘God’s going to be good to us, it’ll be plain sailing.’

“But that’s not how life works. It’s been a rollercoaster. I did the pregnancy test at my mother-in-law’s. I could not believe it. I’ve done a million tests over the past two years and videoed them – the one time I didn’t, it was positive.”

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
