Lady Gaga has inadvertently revealed her engagement to long-term boyfriend Michael Polansky during the 2024 Olympics. The Poker Face singer accidentally let the cat out of the bag while introducing him to French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the games.
Gaga, who has been romantically involved with the tech investor since 2020, referred to Polansky as “my fiance” in a TikTok video shared by the prime minister. In the clip, Gaga is seen donning a patriotic Team USA jacket and black sunglasses, with her hair neatly tied back in a ponytail.
The meeting took place at a Parisian arena where a swimming event was being held, according to Mirror US. “Thank you Lady Gaga for your stunning performance at the Opening Ceremony. It was breathtaking,” Prime Minister Attal captioned the video.
Gaga’s performance near the River Seine, which was pre-recorded for the ceremony, received mixed reviews on social media.
“The Lady Gaga performance at the #Olympics opening ceremony is sooo bad.. who thought it was a good idea to perform cabaret at the olympics,” one fan criticised on X, previously known as Twitter. Another chimed in: “Where are the French artists? Lol”, reports the Mirror.
However, some were thrilled with the show, with one admirer penning: “What a talented woman @ladygaga is.”
Following her performance, Gaga took to Instagram, expressing: “I feel so completely grateful to have been asked to open the Paris @Olympics 2024 this year. I am also humbled to be asked by the Olympics organising committee to sing such a special French song-a song to honour the French people and their tremendous history of art, music, and theatre.”
“This song was sung by Zizi Jeanmaire, born in Paris a French ballerina, she famously sang “Mon Truc en Plumes” in 1961. The title means “My Thing with Feathers. ” And this is not the first time we’ve crossed paths. Zizi starred in Cole Porter’s musical “Anything Goes” which was my first jazz release. (sic),” she added in the caption.
Michael and Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, were first seen sharing a kiss four years ago at a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas. They later attended the Super Bowl together that same year and Gaga posted a picture of them on a yacht in Miami – confirming their relationship on Instagram.
The businessman has been present at various events with his now-fiancee, from when she performed at Joe Biden‘s inauguration in 2021 to her surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live in 2023.
