Sinead O’Connor’s cause of death has finally been confirmed as “natural causes.”
O’Connor, best known for her haunting version of Nothing Compares 2 U, died of a combination of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, the Irish Independent reported. The singer was also battling a respiratory tract infection at the time of her passing, the media outlet wrote.
Deadline previously reported O’Connor died of natural causes, quoting the coroner in London. However, no specifics were given.
London’s Metropolitan Police previously said the death was not being treated as “suspicious.”
It’s been one year since the Irish singer died after being found “unresponsive” in her London apartment.
