KERRY Katona has revealed she hasn’t seen eldest daughter Molly for nearly a year as she prepares to reunite with her.

The 22-year-old, who Kerry shares with first husband Brian McFadden, lives in Ireland – her dad’s home country – but maintains a very close relationship with both parents.

Writing in her latest OK! column, Kerry said: “Lilly and Molly are both coming home this week from Ireland for a visit and I can’t wait to have them back.

“I haven’t seen Molly in almost a year! We talk on the phone every single day, but she just hasn’t been home to visit in a while.

“Lilly is getting on great too, she’s really settled and has got a good job over in Ireland, I’m proud of her.

“It’s nice for me to see my kids flourish. I’ve done my parenting bit and now it’s their turn to live lives.

“Although Lilly is going on holiday soon and I do worry about her – especially after this whole Jay Slater news – it doesn’t get easier.”

Last week Kerry broke down in tears when she opened up about hitting rock bottom in rehab years ago – before being saved by a harrowing childhood memory.

The TV personality, 43, has lived through a troubled past and got emotional as she delved into it on Abbey Clancy‘s podcast.

Former pop star Kerry endured a difficult home life followed by an abusive marriage to George Kay, addiction and bankruptcy – but has come out the other side.

Now in a place where she can reflect on the worst moments in her life to inspire others, she shared one of her darkest memories.

Kerry told Abbey’s Exhibit A podcast: “[It was] watching my mum slit her wrist. I can get emotional and upset about it now I’m older.”

That moment ended up becoming her motivation to turn her life around during six weeks in rehab for depression, alcohol and drug abuse.

Kerry admitted that at the time she was so low that she thought about self-harming too, but it was the thought of her children that stopped her.

The star realised that seeing her mum struggle in that way made her feel “unloved” when she was young, and didn’t want her own daughters to have the same experience.

She told Abbey: “I remember sitting in rehab and I couldn’t believe I let myself get so low.

“I kept thinking if this is in my DNA and if it is a genetic thing.

“The one thing I never want my kids to feel is unloved or not wanted by me, because that’s how I felt.

“So I thought if this is something that I might end up doing, I got Molly and Lilly tattooed on my wrist because I thought I’d be so selfish to put my kids through that no matter what’s going on my life.”

Both women broke down in tears over the difficult admission.

After her appearance on the podcast, Kerry went on to clarify: “I loved doing this with podcast Abbey but I do want to make it very clear I love my mum with all my heart and she too had no help and she’s made me who I am today.

“I really hope you get some hope and inspiration from this amazing podcast.”
