Madonna’s son says he’s ‘scavenging’ for food after moving out of her £14m home

Madonna‘s son, David Banda, has claimed he’s been “forced to scavenge for food” since moving out of his mother’s home.

The 18-year-old musician, who is the adopted son of the pop icon, recently moved in with his girlfriend and revealed that despite his mother’s reported $850 million fortune, he doesn’t have enough money for food.

During an Instagram Live, he shared the reality of his living standards, but admitted it isn’t getting him down. “I love it. I’m not on my own, I’ve got my girlfriend,” he said. “But I love it.”

It’s lovely to experience it being nine o’clock at night, me being hungry and realising that I don’t have enough money to get food and scavenging. It’s fun to be young!”

To bring in some extra cash, David provides guitar lessons online. His prospective students and followers are able to book lessons off his Instagram page – which currently boasts more than 52k followers.

In a brief update to his followers, David also confirmed that Madonna and is dating someone, although he did not disclose the man’s identity. He stated: “Truth be told, she’s not single. She’s dating a guy . . . That’s her life. She’ll do what she wants to do.”

Back in 2022, the Material Girl hitmaker previously gushed about David during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. She told the presenter: “You know he makes music now, too. He’s going to end up being one of your guests.”

She went on to speak about her son’s eye for fashion, adding: “He’ll put on any outfit and look swag as you know what. It’s really irritating. He wears my clothes and looks better in them.”

 

Meanwhile, the the 65-year-old songstress was forced to delay the start of her ‘Celebration’ world tour last June due to serious illness. She recently expressed her gratitude for making a full recovery and having an “amazing” past year.

Alongside a collection of Independence Day festive snaps, she mused: “A year ago today, I had just come home from the hospital after surviving a life threatening illness, I could barely stand in my backyard holding one sparkler.”

The mum-of-six added: “I made a miraculous recovery and had an amazing year. Thank you God. Life is beautiful! Happy 4th of July!”
