Blizzard reveals Diablo 4’s new Spiritborn class ahead of Vessel of Hatred DLC

Must read

Players battling demonic forces for the Diablo 4 achievements will be able to dive into some fresh content when the Vessel of Hatred expansion launches on October 8. While we’re yet to learn if the DLC will introduce some new Xbox achievements for the Xbox RPG, Blizzard has dropped Diablo 4’s Spiritborn class reveal, offering us our first look at the versatile character.

Diablo 4 reveals Vessel of Hatred’s upcoming Spiritborn class

Blizzard has finally given us our first look at the Spiritborn class for Diablo 4, who call upon Spirit Guardians to grant them strength in combat. Offering a versatile playstyle and mastery in hand-to-hand combat, the Spiritborn harness spirit energy to slay their demonic foes.

The class calls the new upcoming region of Nahuntu home, where they have dedicated their lives to protecting the Spirit Realm — a “ghostly reflection of Sanctuary where the souls of the jungle have a purpose beyond life.” The class represents a connection between the natural world and that of the next, embodying the strengths of the four Spirit Guardians — Centipede, Eagle, Gorilla, and Jaguar — via a new Skill Tag called Incarnate. “The warrior sees her strength in the Gorilla, the hunter sees his speed in the Jaguar, the strategist sees their vigil in the Eagle, and the apothecary sees her practice in the Centipede and the decay it devours,” Blizzard says.

Upon reaching level 15, Spiritborn players will be able to access a unique class quest to unlock the Spirit Hall. The hall will initially allow you to enhance your build by choosing a Primary Spirit, as well as the ability to add the Spirit’s Skill Tag to all of your Skills. Once you reach level 30, you’ll be able to step things up a little more by choosing a secondary bonus from any of the Guardians, which can either strengthen the bond you have with your current Guardian or mix it with one of the others.

Of course, Spiritborns will also get their own Legendary and Unique items as well, which “can lean into different playstyles of the Spirit Guardians, augment or amplify skills, or amplify a player’s inherent power.”

Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred DLC launches on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on October 8, adding a new PvE co-op activity, the ability to hire Mercenaries, and more.
