An amazing video on social media shows London collectively screaming as Cole Palmer scored to rescue hope of England beating Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

Unfortunately, the Chelsea star’s strike that pulled the Three Lions back on level terms late in the second half ended up counting for nothing as Spain clinched victory in the closing moments.

However, it was another brilliant cameo showing from Palmer who finished coolly with a curling effort into the bottom corner just three minutes after making his introduction.

The Wythenshawe-born star was restricted to starting on the bench against Spain as Bukayo Saka was preferred on the right-wing, but was brought on as England scrambled for a goal.

His effort inspired dreams of a momentous comeback and wild celebrations can be seen in the video showing the outbreak of noise across England’s capital as Palmer’s shot nestled in the back of the net.

Screams and wails of delight can be heard erupting around Canary Wharf in the short clip that were later silenced when Spain found a winner with just minutes remaining.

The video caption describes the footage as ‘the most insane moment ever’ with viewers stunned by the reaction as London’s evening skyline was broken by shouts and cheers.

‘It’s what Cole Palmer gives ya,’ said one supporter in response to the video that has since been viewed 1.3million times on X.

However, Palmer was later left in tears as England’s stars lost a second consecutive European Championship final – becoming the only team to do so in the process.

The Chelsea star failed to make a single start at Euro 2024 as he was limited to making a total of five appearances from the bench as Southgate opted for his trusted choices.

Arsenal’s Saka was preferred over Palmer on the right-wing, with many left bemused at the decision to only use the 22-year-old in a bit-part role.

Palmer will now be given an extended period of leave following the conclusion of the Premier League season and Euro 2024 before joining up with Chelsea for their pre-season tour.

The Blues are set to tour the United States and get their pre-season campaign underway against Wrexham on Thursday, July 25.
