Dani Olmo is a wanted man this summer. The attacking midfielder is currently the joint top scorer at Euro 2024 and will do battle with Harry Kane to claim the Golden Boot in Sunday’s showpiece final.
Olmo has shone in an exciting Spain side and has admirers all across Europe. But any club wishing to sign him will need to act fast if they want to get a deal done.
The 26-year-old has spent the last four-and-a-half years in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, having missed out on the chance to join a Premier League team in 2019.
Olmo would end up joining Leipzig in January 2020, having been linked with a move to Arsenal, with Zagreb sporting director Zoran Mamic saying: “Dani did not want to go to Italy and England, he insisted on Leipzig, if we had had a day or two, he would probably be in Bayern [Munich]. But Dani said he wanted to [join] Leipzig – he was very keen on the option and [we] should respect it.”
Now, links to the Premier League are resurfacing after his impressive Euro 2024 campaign. Arsenal are once again named as interested suitors, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City also keen.
And it appears Premier League champions City may have stolen a march on their rivals for his signature. Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio claims City are the “most interested” and that they are working on getting a deal done in the coming days.

There is a necessity for teams to agree a transfer fee with Leipzig quickly. That is because Omo has a £50million release clause which expires on July 20. Speaking about the clause, Olmo said: “Clause until July 20? Yes, if clubs want me, they know what they can do. There’s time until July 20 for the clause otherwise later it’d be tough negotiations! I’m under contract at Leipzig and I want to win titles.”
And City are the ones who are apparently leading the chase to sign Olmo quickly this summer.
