Legendary fitness guru Richard Simmons has reportedly died just a day after his 76th birthday.
Simmons reportedly died at his home in Los Angeles today (July 13).
The fitness star, who appeared in several movies and TV shows, recently wrote to his fans on Facebook.

Following his birthday, he said: “Thank you…I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life!
“I am sitting here writing emails. Have a most beautiful rest of your Friday. Love, Richard”.
Simmons is best know for his fitness videos in the 70s and 80s, where he was launched into pop culture status with high profile TV appearances.
He also opened up several gyms dedicated to helping those not in the best shape.
In many movies and TV shows, he often appeared as himself, including 72 episodes of General Hospital.
Following news of his death, several fans have now paid tribute.
One fan said: “Richard Simmons did nothing in this life but help people, love people and minded his own damn business. God rest his soul.”
Another commented: “He was so entertaining. He was really great on TV. I’ll miss him, he was a unique star. He was on my TV for decades, I grew up with him. I’m sad to hear he passed.”
Film and TV reviewer Richard Roeper said on X: “Richard Simmons preached exercise, diet and most of all kindness. He positively impacted thousands and thousands of lives. I’m one of the hundreds and hundreds of TV people who basked in his energy and readily accepted those crazy hugs. Rest well.”
