Fashion writer predicts brands that will be discounted on Amazon Prime Day

Must read

Brace yourselves, folks, one of the biggest shopping events of the year is nearly here. Yes, you guessed it – Amazon Prime Day is on its way and like many others, we’re mentally gearing up for the avalanche of discounts coming our way on Tuesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 17.

It’s an ideal chance for shoppers to grab wardrobe essentials, beauty products, coffee machines, gadgets – such as this Ring Video Doorbell 3 – and plenty of random items you never knew you needed.

But hold your horses, the Prime Day discounts are only available to Prime members and you can sign up to Amazon Prime, here, for £8.99 a month. Your first month will be free as the subscription includes a 30-day free trial, reports the Mirror. Find out more here.

Now, as a fashion writer, it’s hardly shocking that I’m most excited to see which clothing brands will be cutting their prices and, having experienced a few Prime Days before, I have some idea of what sort of labels and big names will be discounting their items – if the past few years are anything to go by.

I’m not one to gate-keep this sort of information, so I thought I’d let you in on some of the brands I’m expecting big price-cuts from, so you can keep an eye out over the massive two-day sale happening next Tuesday and Wednesday. And, at the time of writing, some brands had already started dropping their prices – although of course, prices are subject to change.

The brand’s best-selling Blaire sandals (Image: Dr Martens)

First on the list is the iconic shoe brand, Dr Martens. During the last Prime Day, a wide range of lace-ups, sandals, Chelsea boots, Oxford shoes and more were significantly discounted, and we anticipate a similar trend this time around – especially considering the brand regularly holds sales throughout the year on the retail giant.

Some of its shoes are even currently discounted, for instance, the Dr. Martens Women’s Blaire Sandal is now priced at £83.30, down from its original price of £110 (the RRP on Dr Martens’ website). Additionally, the classic Dr. Martens Unisex-Adult Virginia 1460 Lace-Up Boots are now available for £136, reduced from £170. If these prices don’t get you excited for Prime Day, I’m not sure what will.

However, if Dr Martens isn’t your cup of tea, perhaps Crocs might be more to your liking – who can resist a bit of comfort?

Amazon has already reduced the price of the classic Crocs(Image: Amazon)

While there are currently lower than usual prices for these soft, cloud-like clogs – these classic Crocs on Amazon are £35.99 down from £44.99, while these Crocband ones are £39.99 down from £49.99 – it’s likely to be even better once Prime Day arrives. But if you can’t wait for Prime Day, Crocs has already kicked off its own summer sale, with discounts of up to 60% on its shoes.

Birkenstock enthusiasts, this one’s for you as we’ve seen several of their slider designs discounted on Amazon over the past year. Earlier in spring, the Birkenstock Unisex White Arizona Mules were marked down from £44.99 to £36.50, while the women’s Arizona’s dropped from £69.95 to £44.77.

At present, the shopping site has the Birkenstock Boston SL (Superlauf) closed leather shoes reduced from £113.99 to £91.45 and the Unisex-Adult Arizona Birko-Flor Nubuck Sandals at £66.09, down from £84.50. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for even more price cuts next week.

And you’ll need a good pair of denim jeans or a jacket to match your new shoes, too. Last year, Levi’s prices on Amazon truly impressed me, so I’m anticipating that this year will be just as remarkable, especially as I’m already seeing some fantastic prices for the expertly crafted jeans.

There’s a reason these 501 jeans are renowned(Image: Amazon)

The classic 501 men’s jeans in the brand’s original fit are currently selling on Amazon for £59.95, down from £76.12, while the women’s 501 jeans are now £80, down from £101.89. It’s not just their denim trousers that have been reduced ahead of Prime Day either, as its timeless Trucker jacket currently has 41% off and costs £65, down from £109.95 – plus all sizes are still available.

If you’re a fan of designer brands, it’s likely that Calvin Klein will have some treats for you on Amazon Prime Day, with prices already starting to drop on its classic underwear range. For instance, this bralette, featuring the iconic Calvin Klein branded strip, is now just £20, reduced from £35, as is its triangle unlined bra.

You can also grab some CK briefs at their lowest price in 30 days for £20. But it’s not just underwear – there are also some stunning CK earrings currently on offer, like these dangle and drop warped rings earrings for £60 at 33% off. However, we expect there’ll be even more choice come Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Calvin Klein isn’t the only designer brand available on Amazon, with the likes of Ted Baker, Tommy Hilfiger and Prada all up for grabs. We’re hoping for some fantastic discounts come July 16.

If you can’t wait until then, Ted Baker’s sale is currently offering up to 70% off, with some amazing deals, such as this Isolde midi trench coat in a lovely purple shade for £88, down from £295.

Roman Originals Blue Stretch Denim Jacket(Image: Amazon)

Keep an eye out for Roman clothing this Prime Day too, as it’s likely there’ll be further discounts. Currently on Amazon, you can get this stretch denim jacket for £28 instead of £38, as well as this skater style ruched swing midi dress which has 73% off and is now just £12. With a flattering waistband and pleats, it’s a versatile piece suitable for various occasions and comes in a range of patterns from pink polka-dot to royal-blue.

Of course, these aren’t the only brands we’re anticipating for Prime Day in the fashion sphere, but they are a taste of what’s to come. If you want to fully capitalise on the Amazon Prime Day sales, which will run from Tuesday, June 16 to Wednesday, June 17, you can sign up to Amazon Prime below.
