Darwin Nunez has come in for some criticism following the unsavoury scenes that followed Uruguay’s Copa America exit.

The Liverpool forward was involved in a brawl with Colombian fans after suffering a 1-0 semi-final loss and appeared to be deeply distressed after the altercation was over.

One individual who went head-to-head with Nunez in the tournament was ex-Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams, now of Bournemouth, who featured for 90 minutes as USA narrowly lost to Uruguay in Group C.

Clearly impressed by the display of the Reds’ No.9, Adams was asked to pick between Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and Nunez and named the latter as the superior player in his eyes.
