Man cut in half by forklift in tragic accident ‘put someone else’s poo inside himself’

A man who was cut in half has revealed that he ‘put someone else’s poo inside himself’ after a forklift fell from 50ft and landed on him.

Loren Schauers was going about his normal day at work in 2019 when a forklift he was operating fell off a bridge, landing on top of him.

The injuries were catastrophic, causing him to lose his legs and half of his right arm.

However, the Montana, US native hasn’t let it waver his determination to live a normal life.

Now, Loren documents his life with his wife, Sabia Reiche on social media, and recently revealed a ‘gross’ procedure to heal his gut.

He said during a YouTube video of the pair: “I got a faecal transplant.

“In dirty words, it’s taking someone else’s poop and putting it inside of yourself just to introduce some healthy gut bacteria.

“And the procedure went good, really simple. It only took an hour, nice and quick. They just went straight to the colostomy, they didn’t have to open me up or anything.”

Sabia explained that they had ‘tried to document some of the faecal transplant’ but Loren quickly assed that they didn’t as ‘it’s gross, you don’t really want to see inside someone’s colon.’

According to Cambridge University Hospital, a faecal transplant is ‘a treatment used for Clostridium difficile infection that is either recurring or is not responsive to standard treatments.’

The organisation explains that it ‘involves transfer of healthy bacteria in a mixture of prepared processed stool from a healthy donor to the intestine of the patient’ with the aim of restoring ‘a healthy balance of bacteria in the gut’.

If you thought there was a chance of getting bad poo, there’s no need to worry as ‘the donors have been screened in advance to ensure the stool provided is healthy and tested for a wide array of viral, bacterial and parasitic infections. This also includes screening for Covid19.’

So, Loren’s donor would have been in perfect health to provide a sample for his gut microbiome.

The reason people have it is because they may have recurring clostridium difficile infection, which uses the transplant due to its effectiveness ‘in curing the infection and with low rates of subsequent recurrent infection’.

Earlier this year, Loren opened up about what it is like living without his lower half, and specifically his genitalia.

He admitted that it got rid of his pesky ‘wandering eye.’

He said in the clip: “I’m not trying to impress anyone. I didn’t even think about it but yeah, it’s pretty freeing now that I don’t have sexual thoughts of this girl over here, or impressing that girl over there like before,” he said. “I’m just me, I’m in my zone. It helps me stay out of trouble.”

Sabia chimed in: “Girl or guy you’re just existing and talking to them and hanging out I’ve noticed that a lot. With my girlfriends in the past, I’ve been like ‘are you flirting?!’ and now like they’re just pals.

He’s smashing his recovery and let’s hope it continues to get better with each day.
