We’re thrilled to announce that the new sections of the NCN1 (National Cycle Network) at Monifieth and Carnoustie are now complete, in time for the summer holidays!
In Monifieth, we’ve made your ride and walk safer and smoother. No more cycling on narrow, poorly lit routes past parked cars or battling sand build-ups along the road edge. The new path connects to the Dundee Broughty Ferry to Monifieth project and provides an off road alternative to Marine Drive. The improvements here also include several other new sections featuring a ramp that connects to the existing path up to the football pitches, new crossing points, lighting and a separate section running parallel to the car park.
In Carnoustie, we’ve made big improvements too, separating people and vehicles with a raised kerb and improved surfaces and lighting. There has also been a slight realignment of the route with it now running along the quiet road to the rear of the starters hut for The Burnside Course and then onto Links Parade. These improvements have been delivered in partnership with the Carnoustie Golf Links Management Trust.
Get out and enjoy the new paths this summer!
