Enfield Recruitment Day takes places at Southbury Leisure Centre on Thursday and is open to job seekers, graduates and seasoned professionals alike
Enfield Council will be hosting its latest jobs fair this week to offer residents employment prospects, skills-building workshops, and “valuable networking opportunities”.
Enfield Recruitment Day is returning to the borough for a third time in less than a year on Thursday (11th) from 10am to 2pm at Southbury Leisure Centre, and welcomes job seekers, graduates, seasoned professionals, or those simply looking for a career change.
Nearly 1,000 pre-registrations to attend have been received so far, making this one of the biggest recruitment events in recent times in the borough. However, walk-ins are still welcome between 12pm and 1pm on the day.
National employers such as Metroline will be in attendance, along with various local colleges, training providers and industry representatives from areas including construction, healthcare and more.
A new addition includes Dress for Success, an organisation that offers a variety of services, including professional clothing and coaching for unemployed women to help them become interview-ready and succeed in the workforce. To further strengthen job prospects, the CV workshop will also return.
Susan Erbil the council’s cabinet member for planning and regulatory services, said: “With every recruitment event, we can see an increase in confidence from our residents to kick-start their careers. At last spring’s recruitment day alone, we welcomed more than 650 attendees, who had the chance to network with employers and training providers.
“Many continued the conversation following the event, which resulted in multiple candidates having their CVs shortlisted, being offered an interview, or being accepted into a training course. Our upcoming summer recruitment day will continue to provide a platform that champions sustainable employment to local people, whilst helping develop vital skills to access good quality work.”
Enfield Recruitment Day is supported by Enfield Council in partnership with Local London, the Department for Work and Pensions, Job Centre Plus and Maximus. The council plans to host another free jobs fair in the autumn.
